What does Matthew 22:9 mean?
When the king's original guests reject his wedding invitation, he tells his servants to go out into the streets and bring in whoever they can find, good and bad alike. This shifts the focus from the elite who thought they were entitled to the celebration to ordinary people on the margins. The "intersections of the highways" represents public gathering places where all kinds of people pass through, not the homes of the important or wealthy. Jesus is illustrating how God's kingdom opens its doors to those society overlooks, and the invitation goes out indiscriminately to anyone willing to come. It's a reminder that grace isn't reserved for the deserving or the respectable, but is offered generously to all.
