What does Matthew 22:14 mean?

Jesus speaks these words at the end of a parable about a king's wedding feast, where invited guests reject the invitation and a man shows up without proper wedding clothes. The point isn't that God is stingy with his grace, but that being invited (called) is different from actually accepting and living out that invitation (chosen). Throughout Scripture, God extends his call widely and generously, but choosing to respond, to change direction, and to follow requires something from us. If you're walking through doubt or wondering whether you really belong in God's family, remember that the invitation stands open to you, and what matters most is your honest response to it.
