What does Matthew 21:6 mean?
The disciples here are responding to Jesus' specific instructions to go into a nearby village and bring back a donkey and its colt for his entry into Jerusalem. What makes this moment worth noticing is the simplicity of their obedience, especially when the task might have seemed odd or risky (taking someone else's animals without explanation). They didn't ask questions or hesitate, they just went and did it. For many of us, this reflects something real about trust: sometimes following God's direction means acting on what we're asked to do, even when we don't fully understand the bigger picture or when it requires a leap of faith. The disciples would see shortly why this mattered, when their obedience made possible the Palm Sunday scene that pointed to Jesus as king.
