What does Matthew 2:14 mean?

Joseph didn't hesitate when warned in a dream that King Herod wanted to kill the baby Jesus. He got up in the middle of the night, gathered Mary and Jesus, and fled their home in Nazareth to Egypt, where they would be safe from the danger back home. This simple act of obedience shows the kind of trust Joseph had: he didn't question the dream or ask for more details or time to prepare. He just moved, protecting the vulnerable people he loved most. It also reminds us that following God sometimes means disruption and hardship, leaving behind your home and security. For those of us going through sudden upheaval or forced change, Joseph's quiet faithfulness in the dark can be steadying.
