Matthew 18:16
“But if he doesn’t listen, take one or two more with you, that at the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.”
What does Matthew 18:16 mean?
Jesus is teaching us how to handle conflicts with other believers when someone has hurt or wronged us. If direct conversation hasn't worked, the next step is to bring one or two trusted people along, not to gang up on the person, but to have witnesses present so there's clarity about what's being discussed and decided. This approach honors the principle found throughout Scripture that multiple voices help establish the truth and keep everyone accountable, making it harder for misunderstandings to fester or for either side to deny what was said.
