Matthew 16:17

What does Matthew 16:17 mean?
Peter has just declared that Jesus is "the Messiah, the Son of the living God," and Jesus responds by affirming that this understanding didn't come from ordinary human reasoning or observation alone. He's saying that Peter's faith is a gift from God, something revealed from heaven rather than figured out through worldly wisdom or debate. This suggests that truly knowing who Jesus is requires spiritual insight, a kind of knowing that goes deeper than what we can see with our eyes or work out with our minds.
