What does Matthew 15:33 mean?
The disciples have just heard Jesus ask how to feed a crowd of four thousand people in the wilderness, and their response is honest bewilderment. They're not being faithless so much as practical: there are no bakeries out here, no markets, no supply lines. Where would anyone even begin? This moment captures something real about following Jesus—sometimes you hear what he's asking and your first instinct is to list all the reasons it's impossible. The disciples aren't wrong about the logistics. What they're about to discover, though, is that the scarcity they see isn't the whole story.
