What does Matthew 14:31 mean?
Peter had just stepped out of the boat to walk toward Jesus on the water, but when he noticed the wind and waves, fear took over and he began to sink. Jesus caught him instantly, not with anger but with a gentle question that invites reflection rather than condemnation. The phrase "little faith" doesn't mean Peter had no faith at all, but that his trust wavered the moment circumstances looked threatening. Jesus is showing us that doubt often comes when we shift our focus from him to our problems, and that even small, wavering faith is enough for him to rescue us.
