What does Matthew 14:23 mean?

Jesus had just finished a long day of ministry, feeding thousands and managing the crowds around him. Rather than celebrate or rest with others, he deliberately went up a mountain by himself to pray, waiting until evening when he could be completely alone. This shows us that even in the midst of demanding work and people who needed him, Jesus made space to withdraw and connect with his Father, away from distractions and demands. It's a quiet reminder that sometimes the most important thing we can do, especially when life feels full and overwhelming, is to step away and pray.
