What does Matthew 13:26 mean?
In this parable, a farmer discovers that an enemy has sown weeds (darnel) among his wheat field while everyone slept. The weeds don't become visible until later, when both the wheat and weeds have grown tall enough to be recognized. This teaches us something important about how evil and good often develop side by side in our lives and in the world, and we don't always notice the damage right away. Sometimes the harm is already done before we realize what's happened. It's a humble reminder that we can't always prevent bad things from taking root around us, but the parable goes on to show that there's still a harvest coming and an eventual reckoning.
