““Either make the tree good, and its fruit good, or make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt; for the tree is known by its fruit.”
What does Matthew 12:33 mean?
Jesus is saying that what comes out of us reveals what's really inside us. You can't pretend to be one way while your actions and words show something different, any more than a healthy apple tree could suddenly produce rotten apples. The real you shows up in how you treat people, what you say when no one's watching, and the choices you make when it matters. This hits especially hard because it means you can't fake it long-term. The good news, though, is that this works both ways. If you're struggling with what you're producing in your life right now, it's an invitation to look at what needs healing in your heart, not just to try harder on the surface.
