Matthew 10:41
“He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward. He who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man will receive a righteous man’s reward.”
What does Matthew 10:41 mean?
Jesus is teaching that how we treat people who serve God matters deeply, and God notices. When you welcome someone because you recognize and respect their faithfulness to God, you're essentially joining in their work and their relationship with Him. That connection carries real spiritual weight and reward. The second part extends this further: you don't have to be a prophet yourself to receive what prophets receive. Simply welcoming a righteous person as righteous, honoring them for who they are, puts you in relationship with their faith and their standing before God. It's a beautiful promise that generosity and recognition of others' devotion creates something lasting in your own spiritual life.
