What does Matthew 10:29 mean?
Jesus is reminding us that God pays attention to things we might think are too small or insignificant to matter. Sparrows were cheap and plentiful, worth almost nothing in the marketplace, yet even their lives matter to God. When Jesus says not one falls to the ground apart from your Father's will, he's not suggesting God causes every accident, but rather that nothing escapes God's notice or care. The point is comfort: if God notices the sparrow, you can trust that you matter infinitely more to him, and whatever you're facing right now hasn't slipped past his attention.
