What does Mark 9:42 mean?
Jesus uses shocking, almost brutal language here to show how seriously he takes the protection of vulnerable people, especially children and those new to faith. He's saying that harming someone spiritually or morally, particularly someone young or just beginning to trust him, is gravely wrong, and that facing God's judgment would be preferable to living with that guilt.
