What does Mark 6:12 mean?
The disciples had just been sent out by Jesus with simple instructions and no supplies, trusting that God would provide for them. This verse captures the heart of their mission: they traveled from place to place calling people to turn around, to change their minds and direction, to stop and reconsider how they were living. "Repentance" isn't primarily about feeling guilty, though that might come first. It's about recognizing something needs to shift and actually shifting it. The disciples weren't there to shame people but to offer them a real chance to reorient their lives toward God. In a culture where people were caught in systems of sin, compromise, and distance from God, this was genuinely good news, even though it required honesty and change.
