Mark 5:4

What does Mark 5:4 mean?
This man had been bound repeatedly, yet his chains kept breaking under his own strength. The sheer force required to snap iron suggests something far beyond ordinary human power was at work in him, whether we understand that as mental anguish, spiritual torment, or something deeper. The fact that no one could restrain him points to how isolated and hopeless his situation seemed to everyone around him, including himself. What makes this detail matter is that Jesus walks into this seemingly impossible situation without fear or doubt, meeting the man exactly where he is.
