What does Mark 5:26 mean?
This woman had been bleeding for twelve years (as Mark tells us just before), and in her desperation, she'd exhausted every medical option available and spent every penny she had. Instead of getting better, her condition had actually deteriorated, leaving her not just physically sick but also emotionally depleted and financially ruined. It's a picture of how suffering can pile on top of itself, especially when we've tried everything we know to try and nothing works. What makes this moment so powerful is that right after this, she reaches out to Jesus in faith, suggesting that sometimes our deepest exhaustion and emptiness can become the very soil where trust in God grows.
