Mark 3:1
“He entered again into the synagogue, and there was a man there who had his hand withered.”
What does Mark 3:1 mean?
Jesus walked into the synagogue knowing exactly what He'd find, and what would happen next. The religious leaders were watching Him closely, waiting to catch Him breaking their strict rules about the Sabbath. This man with the withered hand wasn't there by accident, either, though Mark doesn't tell us his story. In the verses that follow, Jesus will heal him right there on the holy day, putting compassion for a suffering person above the traditions that had grown up around Sabbath rest.
