What does Mark 2:6 mean?

The scribes in this moment are religious scholars and legal experts watching Jesus heal a paralyzed man. Rather than celebrating the miracle, they're silently critiquing him, thinking to themselves that only God has the power to forgive sins (which is what Jesus had just done). Their internal reasoning reveals a hardened resistance, a refusal to let what they're witnessing change their minds about who Jesus might be. It's a subtle but powerful picture of how we can witness something extraordinary and still choose skepticism, clinging to our existing beliefs instead of remaining open to being transformed.
