Mark 15:1

β€œImmediately in the morning the chief priests, with the elders and scribes, and the whole council, held a consultation, and bound Jesus, and carried him away, and delivered him up to Pilate.”

What does Mark 15:1 mean?

Early on that dark morning, Jesus' enemies moved quickly to seal his fate. The religious leaders gathered the full council together, bound him, and brought him before Pilate, the Roman governor, because they needed Roman authority to carry out execution. This moment shows how determined they were to see Jesus condemned, moving fast before public sympathy could intervene. It also reveals an important truth: Jesus didn't resist or flee, but allowed himself to be handed over, stepping toward the suffering he had come to bear.
