What does Mark 14:37 mean?
Jesus had asked his closest friends to pray with him during his most difficult night, knowing what was coming. When he returned from praying in the garden, he found them asleep, and his words to Peter carry both disappointment and a kind of gentle pleading: couldn't you stay awake for just one hour with me? There's real pain in this moment, not anger. Jesus needed his friends present during his deepest struggle, and they couldn't manage it.
