Mark 14:15
βHe will himself show you a large upper room furnished and ready. Get ready for us there.ββ
What does Mark 14:15 mean?
In this moment, Jesus is sending two disciples ahead to prepare for the Passover meal. The "large upper room furnished and ready" is a gift of hospitality that God has already arranged, though the disciples don't yet know exactly where it will be. Jesus is telling them to trust that when they arrive in Jerusalem, they'll find exactly what they need waiting for them. There's something deeply comforting in this detail. Jesus doesn't ask his followers to scramble or worry about logistics. He's telling them that provision isn't their burden to figure out alone, it's already there. For anyone who feels unprepared or anxious about what comes next, this speaks to the reality that sometimes what we need has already been prepared, and our job is simply to show up and accept it.
