Mark 13:7
““When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, don’t be troubled. For those must happen, but the end is not yet.”
What does Mark 13:7 mean?
Jesus is preparing his followers for a difficult future by telling them that conflict and instability are part of how the world works before his return, not signs that the end is immediately upon them. He's essentially saying: don't panic at every bad headline or crisis you hear about. When you're going through uncertainty or watching troubling events unfold, it's natural to wonder if everything is falling apart, but Jesus invites us to trust that God's timeline isn't determined by the chaos we see around us. This doesn't mean we ignore real suffering or stop caring about peace, but rather that we can find steadiness in knowing God is not caught off guard by any of it.
