What does Mark 12:43 mean?

Jesus watched people drop money into the temple collection box, and he noticed something the crowds missed: a widow who had almost nothing gave a small amount, while wealthy people gave large sums from their abundance. He called his disciples over to point out that her contribution actually meant more, because she gave everything she had while the rich gave only from their surplus. Jesus wasn't calculating dollars and cents, but measuring sacrifice and trust, what this act revealed about her heart and her faith in God to provide for her. In a world that judges by visible results and impressive numbers, he was teaching his followers to see generosity differently, noticing not the size of the gift but the cost to the giver.
