What does Mark 11:16 mean?
During Jesus' visit to Jerusalem, the temple had become a marketplace where merchants sold animals and exchanged money, turning a sacred space into a commercial hub. When Jesus cleared out these vendors, he also prevented people from using the temple grounds as a shortcut to carry goods through, which would have furthered the disrespect for what was meant to be a house of prayer.
