Mark 11:14
“Jesus told it, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again!” and his disciples heard it.”
What does Mark 11:14 mean?
Jesus spoke these words to a fig tree that had no fruit on it, even though it was the season when it should have been bearing figs. On the surface, it seems harsh—cursing a tree for simply being unfruitful. But this acted out a powerful lesson for his disciples about the danger of looking good on the outside while being spiritually empty within. The fig tree, with its full green leaves, appeared healthy and promising, yet it offered nothing nourishing to those who came seeking. Jesus used this moment to challenge his followers (and us) to examine whether we're genuinely producing the spiritual fruit that matters, or just going through the motions of faith.
