What does Mark 11:10 mean?
The crowd welcoming Jesus into Jerusalem is celebrating him as the fulfillment of Israel's ancient hopes, invoking King David because his dynasty was promised to produce a forever-king, a Messiah. They're saying that God's long-awaited kingdom is finally arriving through Jesus, and they're using "Hosanna" (which means "save us") as a joyful cry of praise and trust.
