What does Mark 10:23 mean?
Jesus isn't condemning wealth itself here, but naming a real spiritual danger: when we have plenty, it's easy to feel self-sufficient and forget that we need God. The rich often believe their money can solve their problems, buy their security, and meet their deepest needs, which makes it harder to trust God the way someone struggling might naturally do. This doesn't mean poor people automatically enter God's kingdom or that wealthy people can't follow Jesus. Rather, Jesus is pointing out that abundance can become a spiritual obstacle if it makes us think we don't need help, grace, or redemption. The challenge for anyone with resources is staying aware that money can't purchase what matters most: meaning, peace, genuine connection, and eternal life.
