What does Luke 9:5 mean?
When Jesus sent out his disciples to share their message, he knew they'd face rejection. He's telling them that when people refuse to listen or welcome them, they should shake the dust from their feet as they leave, making it a visible sign that they've done their part and the response isn't their responsibility anymore. This gesture was a Jewish custom signaling a complete break with a place, treating it almost like pagan territory.
