Luke 9:4
βInto whatever house you enter, stay there, and depart from there.β
What does Luke 9:4 mean?
Jesus is giving his disciples practical guidance for their mission work. When you arrive in a town and someone offers you hospitality, accept it and stay put rather than constantly moving around looking for better accommodations. This teaches both humility (taking what's offered) and wisdom (not exhausting yourself or your hosts by being restless and demanding). There's also something deeper here about commitment and trust. By staying in one home, the disciples show they're genuinely invested in serving that community, not just passing through. It builds real relationships and gives their message more credibility. For us today, it's a reminder that faithful work often means settling in rather than always seeking the next opportunity.
