What does Luke 9:47 mean?
Jesus noticed the disciples had been arguing about who among them was the greatest, though they tried to hide it from him. Instead of scolding them, he called over a child and placed the child right next to him. In that simple gesture, Jesus showed them what actually matters in God's kingdom: not power or status, but the humble, trusting, dependent spirit that children naturally have. He was teaching them that greatness in God's eyes looks nothing like what the world values.
