What does Luke 9:27 mean?
Jesus is making a promise to the people listening to him that they'll witness something remarkable within their own lifetimes, something so significant it counts as seeing God's kingdom arrive. Scholars have understood this in different ways, some pointing to the Transfiguration that happens just a few verses later, where Jesus's divine nature becomes visible to a few of his closest followers, or to the Resurrection and the birth of the church after his death.
