Luke 8:4
“When a great multitude came together, and people from every city were coming to him, he spoke by a parable.”
What does Luke 8:4 mean?
Jesus had drawn such a large crowd that people were streaming in from surrounding towns. Rather than give a simple lecture, he chose to teach through a parable, a story with spiritual meaning woven into everyday life. This approach allowed people at different levels of understanding to grasp what they needed, while also revealing deeper truths to those ready to receive them. It's a beautiful reminder that Jesus met people where they were, using language and images from their own experience to point them toward God.
