Luke 7:27
“This is he of whom it is written, ‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.’”
What does Luke 7:27 mean?
Jesus is pointing to John the Baptist and confirming that John's role was prophesied centuries earlier in the book of Malachi. John came as the messenger who would prepare people's hearts and minds to receive Jesus, calling them to repentance and spiritual readiness. Think of it like someone announcing that an important guest is arriving and helping everyone get ready, except John was preparing the way for God's own Son. This shows that Jesus's coming wasn't random or unexpected, but part of God's long, intentional plan for how he would reach his people.
