“Jesus answered them, “Go and tell John the things which you have seen and heard: that the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.”
What does Luke 7:22 mean?
When John the Baptist was imprisoned and struggling with doubt, he sent friends to ask Jesus if he was really the promised Messiah. Instead of claiming the title directly, Jesus pointed to what was actually happening around him. The healings and restoration he was bringing to broken bodies and broken lives were themselves the answer, the proof written in real human experience. What's beautiful here is that Jesus didn't separate physical healing from spiritual good news, or helping the poor from raising the dead. He treated it all as one coherent work of restoration.
