What does Luke 6:37 mean?
Jesus invites us into a cycle of grace rather than judgment. When we're quick to condemn others or make harsh verdicts about their character and choices, we tend to live defensively, always bracing for the same treatment in return. But when we extend mercy and release people from our need to prove them wrong, we step out of that exhausting pattern. The third part, about setting free, captures something beautiful: holding grudges and keeping score keeps us trapped too. Forgiveness isn't just a gift we give someone else; it's the way we unlock ourselves from bitterness and the burden of being the judge of everything. The freedom we extend to others has a way of coming back to us.
