What does Luke 5:29 mean?

Levi, a tax collector Jesus had just invited to follow him, threw a big party at his home and invited his whole circle, including other tax collectors and various guests. This was his way of celebrating his encounter with Jesus and introducing his community to him. It shows how genuine conversion often spills over into our relationships—Levi didn't hide his new faith or distance himself from his old world, but instead brought Jesus into it. His friends and colleagues were there to witness something real happening in his life, which is sometimes the most powerful invitation we can offer.
