What does Luke 5:26 mean?

When Jesus healed a paralyzed man right before everyone's eyes, something shifted in the room. The crowd wasn't just impressed or curious, they were shaken to their core, caught between wonder and a kind of holy fear that comes from witnessing something beyond ordinary explanation. That mixture of awe and trembling is often what happens when we encounter the divine, when the familiar world suddenly reveals there's more to reality than we assumed. Their response tells us something important: encountering God's power isn't meant to be a comfortable, tidy experience. It disrupts our assumptions and challenges us to reconsider what's possible. Whether you're in a season of seeking, struggling, or already convinced of faith, that same sense of "something more is happening here" might be exactly what opens our hearts to transformation.
