What does Luke 3:8 mean?
John the Baptist is calling people to real, visible change in how they live, not just words or family connections. He's pushing back against the assumption that being born into the right heritage automatically makes you right with God, warning that such thinking is hollow and won't save you. When he mentions God raising up children from stones, he's being both humorous and serious, suggesting that God doesn't need them specifically and can do just fine without anyone who won't genuinely change. The challenge still speaks today: faith matters most in how we actually treat others and live out our values, not in belonging to the "right" group or saying the right things.
