What does Luke 24:7 mean?
Jesus is reminding his followers of something he had told them before his death: that he would be handed over to sinners, killed by crucifixion, and come back to life three days later. The phrase "Son of Man" was Jesus' favorite way to refer to himself, connecting him to Old Testament prophecies about God's chosen one. What's striking here is that Jesus predicted all of this in advance, not as a victim swept up by circumstances, but as someone walking a path he understood and accepted. When the disciples encounter the risen Jesus and he says this, he's essentially saying, "Remember? I told you this would happen," helping them see that even the darkest moment fit into God's larger purpose.
