What does Luke 24:30 mean?
In this moment after his resurrection, Jesus sits down for a meal with two disciples who hadn't yet recognized him. He does something so familiar, so ordinary, that it suddenly opens their eyes: he blesses the bread in the way they'd seen him do countless times before. There's deep comfort here, because even in resurrection, even in his most transformed state, Jesus returns to the simple language of sharing food and giving thanks. What felt like an ending becomes a beginning as they recognize him in the breaking of bread, reminding us that Jesus meets us in our everyday moments and in the rhythms we know and trust.
