What does Luke 23:51 mean?
This parenthetical note describes Joseph, a member of the Jewish council who disagreed with the decision to execute Jesus. While the other council members voted to condemn him, Joseph stood apart, refusing to go along with their verdict. The phrase "waiting for God's Kingdom" reveals his spiritual posture: he was someone genuinely seeking God's reign, which is why he couldn't participate in what he recognized as an injustice.
