What does Luke 22:6 mean?

Judas, one of Jesus's closest followers, agreed to betray him to the religious authorities who wanted him arrested. He then began looking for the right moment to hand Jesus over when crowds weren't around, knowing that a public arrest might spark a riot among Jesus's many supporters. This verse captures a crucial turning point: the decision has been made, and now Judas actively searches for how to carry it out. It's a sober reminder of how quickly trust can shatter and how even those walking closest to Jesus could turn away.
