What does Luke 21:4 mean?

This passage contrasts two ways of giving. The wealthy people dropping coins into the temple treasury were giving from money they didn't really need, while this poor widow gave everything she had, trusting God for her next meal. It's not about the amount of money that matters to God, but about the cost to the giver and what her gift reveals about her faith. The widow's generosity came from a completely different place than the rich contributors. She wasn't giving to maintain an image or out of obligation, but from genuine devotion despite her desperation. Jesus notices and honors this kind of wholehearted trust, showing his followers that God sees the sacrifice behind our gifts, not just the numbers we give.
