What does Luke 19:21 mean?
This servant is confessing why he buried his master's money instead of investing it. He's saying he was paralyzed by fear, convinced his boss was harsh and unfair, someone who would punish him for any failure. The accusation ("you reap what you didn't sow") means the master profits from others' work and takes what isn't rightfully his. What's striking is that the servant's fear actually creates the very failure he was trying to avoid. His caution doesn't protect him, it condemns him. Sometimes our deepest anxieties about someone can keep us from acting wisely, and we end up proving ourselves wrong in the worst possible way.
