What does Luke 18:1 mean?

Jesus tells this parable because he wants his followers to understand something crucial about prayer: it's not meant to be a one-time request or something you do only when you're desperate. Instead, it's an ongoing conversation with God, a relationship you keep showing up for even when answers seem slow in coming. The phrase "not give up" matters especially for people in tough seasons, because it acknowledges that waiting on God can feel discouraging. Jesus is essentially saying that persistence in prayer isn't bothering God or showing a lack of faith, but rather it's exactly how we're meant to approach him, with both honesty and hope.
