Luke 15:11
βHe said, βA certain man had two sons.β
What does Luke 15:11 mean?
Jesus begins one of Scripture's most beloved stories, often called the parable of the prodigal son. With these simple words, he sets up a tale about a father with two very different sons, each struggling in their own way, and what happens when they both come to the end of themselves. The beauty of this opening is that Jesus doesn't tell us much yet, just enough to make us curious about where this is going. In doing so, he invites us into the story as listeners, making it easier for us to see ourselves reflected in what unfolds.
