What does Luke 14:22 mean?

A servant has carried out his master's instructions to invite guests to a great banquet, and now he returns with surprising news: the table still has empty seats. This servant is reporting back faithfully, noting that despite his efforts, there's capacity for more. In the parable Jesus is telling, this moment captures something tender about abundance and the master's generous intent. The servant isn't finished with his work, and his report opens the door for the master's next instruction: to go out to the roads and hedges and compel even more people to come. There's an invitation here about God's welcome that keeps extending, reaching beyond the expected guests to those on the margins.
