What does Luke 14:2 mean?

A man with severe fluid buildup in his body suddenly appears in the room where Jesus is eating at a Pharisee's house. This wasn't accidental—Luke mentions his presence as if he were strategically placed there, likely by Jesus's critics who wanted to see how he'd respond. The man's condition would have been obvious and uncomfortable, making him impossible to ignore. Jesus was about to make a choice that would challenge everything his hosts believed about what's allowed on the Sabbath.
