Luke 14:17
“He sent out his servant at supper time to tell those who were invited, ‘Come, for everything is ready now.’”
What does Luke 14:17 mean?
The master has prepared a great banquet and now sends word that it's time to come—everything he promised is waiting. This moment captures that feeling when you've been invited to something wonderful and the day finally arrives: the invitation was real, the preparation was genuine, and now you're actually being called to participate. In the larger story Jesus is telling, this represents God's invitation to his kingdom, extended through the message of the gospel. The "everything is ready" speaks to God's faithfulness: he doesn't issue empty invitations or ask us to show up to something incomplete.
